Tryon Life Community Farm
TLC Farm is a community sustainability non-profit organization located in SW Portland. TLC Farm has been facilitating the launch of ReCode Portland, and several files and other information are still primarily available on the TLC Farm website. Props to TLC Farm!
Portland Plan
The Portland Plan is intended to be an inclusive, citywide effort to guide the physical, economic, social, cultural and environmental development of Portland over the next 30 years. The plan will build on the work that the community did through visionPDX, which captured and fleshed out Portland's shared values of sustainability, equity and accessibility, and community connectedness and distinctiveness. Check out this site to add your voice to the process.
Cascadia Regional Green Building Council
The Cascadia Region Green Building Council is named for the Cascadia bioregion, which covers land that drains to the Pacific Ocean through the greatest temperate rain forests on the planet. Members of the Cascadia council are leading the way in creating a roadmap for sustainable building, one that the rest of the nation can use as well. They strive to become the first and last word on green building by forging alliances with organizations that have a stake in the future of this region.
Development Center for Appropriate Technology
The Development Center for Appropriate Technology works to enhance the health of the planet and our communities by promoting a shift to sustainable construction and development through leadership, strategic relationships, and education.
Oasis Design
Oasis Design is a family owned, home-based design consulting and publishing business. They've been developing original designs for living better, cheaper, & more ecologically since 1980. The main focus for the first ten years was transport bicycles, camping equipment, learning systems, and financial management. The focus for the last ten plus years has been water, wastewater and energy systems.
Cob Cottage Company
The Cob Cottage Company conducts hands-on research on natural building methods and materials, testing their own buildings by living in them. Through practical trainings in natural construction, they help empower ordinary people to build their own houses at moderate cost. By mail and phone, and through publications and tours, they supply information, support and inspiration for people to make healthy choices about buildings.
